My approach to Spiritual Direction, or Holy Listening, integrates the wisdom of the Enneagram and Ignatian Spirituality.

In spiritual direction, two persons agree to listen together for God’s voice in one of their lives. Spiritual directors are trained and practiced in recognizing and reflecting the presence and work of God. The focus of a spiritual-direction relationship is your experience (or lack of experience) with God. The true “director” in this relationship is God. I am simply a hospitable guide.

Spiritual direction presumes that God is at work and communicates through ordinary human experience. In that experience, we find God’s invitations, urgings and confirmations. I am a prayerful companion on life’s spiritual journey, and refrain from fixing or advising.
